New Mac Mini with M2 and M2 Pro Chipsets
In addition to the 2023 edition of the MacBook Pro 14 and 16 inches, Apple also announced a new Mac Mini that carries the M2 and M2 Pro chipsets. This is the first time Apple has used its Pro variant chipset on the Mac Mini, previously only using the M1 chipset.
In addition to the 2023 edition of the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pros, Apple also announced a new Mac Mini that uses the M2 and M2 Pro chipsets. This is the first time Apple has installed a Pro variant chipset into the Mac Mini, which was previously only available with the M1 chipset.
The lowest specifications of the latest Mac Mini use the M2 chipset (8-core CPU and 10-core GPU), 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage. Equipped with an HDMI 2.1 port, Gigabit Ethernet, a headphone jack, two USB-A ports and two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, an upgrade from Thunderbolt 3 in the previous generation.
The highest Mac Mini specifications are also available with the M2 Pro chipset (12-core and 19-core GPU) which has 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD storage. This variant also adds two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports.
The Mac Mini with M2 supports up to two monitors with a maximum resolution of 6K at 60Hz, while the Mac Mini with M2 Pro models can be paired with up to three monitors or one monitor with 8K resolution. This is the first time the Mac Mini has support for a display with such a large resolution.
