Independence Day of South Sudan

On 9 July, a new nation in Africa will emerge as a country. The country is South Sudan which is a fraction of the Sudanese state. South Sudan Independence is a continuation of the agreement made in 2005 to stop the civil war that lasted about twenty years and killed an estimated 1.5 million people in both regions. Southern Sudan chose to secede from the north in a referendum in January.

Celebration to welcome the independence and the establishment of South Sudan will start at midnight local time. Earlier this week, Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir pledged support to the South Sudan and states he wants the country's''new''safe and stable.

''We will bless our brothers in south Sudan about the state of their country and we expect them to succeed,''said Bashir, who signed a 2005 peace treaty with the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA).

President of Southern Sudan, Salva Kiir will be sworn in on Saturday (9 / 7)

Rebecca Garang, the wife of the late John Garang, who led rebels in south Sudan civil war, told the BBC that the nation does not conflict with those north, but with their government.

Let's hope for peace between northern Sudan and south Sudan will continue with the existence of an independent state of South Sudan. Because freedom is the right of all nations and therefore, colonization above all the nations must be abolished because it is not in accordance with humanity and justice. Happy independence day for all the people of South Sudan
